Admirals Pointe fence rules.

Admirals Pointe is one of the twelve communities within Geist Harbours Property Owners Association (GHPOA); GHPOA states its association includes Marion County and Indianapolis, and its DCC guidelines state that all 'Admirals' are under City of Indianapolis jurisdiction. All exterior changes require GHPOA Development Control Committee approval before work starts. For ordinary new/replacement residential fences, maximum height is 4 ft measured from adjacent turf/pavement; post caps may extend up to 6 inches above the overall fence height. Fences contiguous and roughly parallel to major thoroughfares may be 6 ft but must reduce to 4 ft when turned away from the thoroughfare. Existing 6-ft fences may remain if maintained, but any replacement must meet current height requirements. Fences may not extend closer to the front of the house than the rear foundation line; a bump-out up to 5 ft laterally may be allowed to enclose a rear-yard access door. On corner lots, the fence may not extend forward of the rear foundation line as determined by the major frontage street and may extend to the front foundation line on the lesser frontage. The best/aesthetic side must face outward and support rails may not face outward. Fences must not cause ponding or block drainage in swales/drainage easements and must be 3 ft from rear and side property lines. Pool/patio fences have a special rule: pool applications must include either a qualifying power-operated pool cover or exactly 5-ft perimeter fencing with self-closing locking gate compliant with Indiana pool code; fences enclosing pools or patios may be 5 ft but must be within 6 ft of the pavement edge. Game-court fences may be black vinyl-coated chain link or another DCC-approved design and may be up to 10 ft.
